Project Type: New Construction
Service: Architecture, Interior Design, FF&E
What is not to love about a contemporary home situated on a home site with a spectacular view? The client wanted a warm contemporary style and our design team approached this scheme by addressing the architecture of the space. The home's large windows and views gave the space a "city mood", but needed a certain level of sophistication. We elegantly configured soffit detail, layered lighting, finish materials and sound equipment. Spaces were joined together to reveal views from every room.
The areas were kept uncluttered by selecting clean furnishings covered in muted tones. Fabrics were carefully selected and seating was placed to keep the spaces light and airy. To join the living room and dining room, we created a fireplace design at a dramatic angle that leads the eye east and west.
Beyond the dining room lies the kitchen and family room that allow for free-flowing among the spaces and views. The chic and cozy family room accommodates a relaxed lifestyle. Granite floors worked well with the custom designed cabinetry enlivened with a color scheme of sage green, chocolate brown, and splashes of celadon and orange. These subtle hues establish a "cohesive relaxed feel" that flows into the den and master suite. The powder room features a dramatic vanity created out of Onyx and stainless steel, backlit with led lighting.
The lower level is sleek and tailored but blends just the right balance between modern and warm contemporary to make the space fun for entertaining or to just watch a movie or sports event with the family on the large drop-down screen. Having a distinct set of likes and dislikes, we had to interpret those and use them to the betterment of the design. Attention to detail was key. It is all about clean lines and architecture and maybe just a little bit about great style.
